Chirp or the Little Baby Chick

I don't know who well you're familiar with 'Peep an the Big, Wide World' kids show, by my boys are crazy about it. So today I've decided to make the little chick, Chirp.
So here it is, with the FREE pattern! :)

Enjoy!

CHIRP

I used Red Heart Super Saver yarn in yellow, red, white, and black colors and an F hook.
Do not join rounds, Chirp is made in spiral.
Use stitch markers or safety pins or just a thread of a different color (like I'm doing!) to mark the first stitch of each round.

BEAK
with black in DOUBLE strand

ch 5, finish off

ch 3, finish off

I tried to make the beak open, so the long part goes on top and the small one at the bottom (see pictures for help).

ASSEMBLY:
I highly recommend pinning all pieces in place before sewing to allow you to make small adjustments. When you're pleased with the positions, sew all in place. The comb is sewn with its small part facing up.  Feet are flattened and sewn in place on the bottom. Eyes and beak are sewn on as shown.

Buttonhole Loop

Using 2 strands yellow and one red:
Make a knot, braid the straits until you get 2 in (5 cm), make a knot.

Assembling:

Our Hook Purse has an outside face and an inside one. We’ll attach the pocket on the inside face (the one that has 7 lines made from the back loops). Position Pocket in the center, making sure that you can fold the purse easily in 3. Try to sew the pocket not flat, but like a small box, only on 3 sides, leaving the top of the pocket open. Position flap on top of the pocket, bottom edge being red color. Sew the top part only.

Fold purse in 3, decide where you’d like to put your button and sew it, then add the buttonhole loop.
